Terms and conditions
Ty Dour Bras, Dour Bras, 29690, La Feuillée, France and this website may be referred to throughout these terms and conditions as ‘our’ or ‘us’ or ‘we’.
Please read the following Terms and Conditions carefully, as, by making a booking and accessing this website, you are agreeing to them.
Booking and Service
Only French law applies.
Please do not allow people to stay in the gîte if their names are not on the original booking form.
No information supplied by yourselves will be given to a third party unless required to do so by authorities such as the French Government, insurance companies, or Gendarmes.
No bank information supplied by a guest will be retained by us after either the booking is cancelled or completed.
Deposits and cancellation by clients:
Please note that deposits are non-refundable. If you need to cancel any part of your booking before arrival, we will do our best to re-let the gîte and return some or all of your deposit to you, less any administrative costs such as incurred bank charges. Cancellation must be confirmed in writing by conventional mail or email – we will acknowledge receipt of the cancellation.
As stated by French law:
a) Cancellation before the start of the stay: if the cancellation occurs more than 30 days before the start of the stay, the amount of the deposit remains with Ty Dour Bras. If the cancellation occurs less than 30 days before the start of the stay, the amount of the deposit remains with Ty Dour Bras who reserve the right to claim the balance of the price of the accommodation.
b) In the event of a shortened stay, the price corresponding to the cost of accommodation remains fully payable to Ty Dour Bras.
Your booking is provisional until we have received and banked your deposit. Normally, you have five working days for your deposit to reach us. (Amount will be confirmed on your booking form).
- Methods for paying deposit:
- bank transfer (GB pounds sterling) direct to our UK Halifax account which we will then transfer to our French business account
- by cheque (GB pounds sterling), which we will then transfer to our French business account
- by bank transfer (Euros) direct to our French bank account – please ask for details
- by cheque (Euros) direct to our French address – Ty Dour Bras, Dour Bras, 29690, La Feuillée, France
- by PayPal – please ask for confirmation of destination email address. Please note, Paypal UK uses the following charges, which would be added to your total should you choose this method. £0.00 GBP – £1,500.00 GBP 3.4% + £0.20 GBP (See Paypal Fees)
Balance of payment on arrival
Balance of payment on arrival may be made by euro cheque (French bank accounts only) or in cash (Euros or £ sterling) only. We do not accept sterling cheques for balance of payment transactions. We do not accept travellers’ cheques or credit cards at this time. £ to euro exchange rate agreed on the day.
We ask for the balance when you arrive, as your accommodation is in a separate building for which you will be given the keys. We will only need access to the building for maintenance purposes, cleaning, and for preparing any breakfasts you order in the lounge/diner.
There is no smoking indoors. No candles to be used by guests.
Unfortunately pets may no longer be brought to the Ty Dour Bras.
There is no additional charge for children under the age of 2. Nevertheless, for legal reasons, we require the names of all persons staying in the gite.
We ask all guests to respect the neighbours and to keep intrusive noise (for example, loud voices and music) to a minimum particularly between the hours of 10pm and 8am.
Any guests who violate any of the terms and conditions will be required to vacate the premises immediately and permanently. Those guests will be liable for the full cost of their planned stay at Ty Dour Bras.
Guests are asked to arrive after 3pm and vacate the gite on the day of departure by 10am (gite), 11am (Chambres d’hotes). Please advise us if you expect to arrive after 9pm. Only genuine reasons for lateness will be accepted (late train, traffic, accident, illness, etc) unless pre-agreed.
Our wish is that our guests have an enjoyable stay with us. If you have any complaints or cause for concern, you must notify us as soon as practical while you are here so that remedial action can be taken.
Please advise us of any spillages, breakages or other damage immediately they occur. We accept that accidents happen, however most spillages are best dealt with immediately rather than when they have had the chance to dry, spilt coffee for example.
Guests are responsible for their own possessions both inside Ty Dour Bras and outdoors, including the parking area. We strongly recommend that you take out appropriate travel insurance to cover your possessions while visiting France. According to your policy, this may cover travel delays and cancellations, and any potential loss of deposit.
Your guest contract for Ty Dour Bras is for us to supply accommodation: kitchen, lounge/diner, bedrooms, bathrooms and toilet facilities equipped and functioning as described to guests at the time of booking. We will make every effort for bicycles, and tea- and coffee-making facilities to be available, but in the event of circumstances outside our control, for example equipment broken by a previous guest, guests will not be entitled to refunds (complete or partial) or compensation.
We have bicycles that can used free of charge, but the provision of any personal safety equipment – such as bicycle helmets – are the responsibility of guests, likewise any injury sustained while using the bicycles.
Note to guests about the Terms and Conditions:
We would like to think the wording used in the Terms and Conditions is unambiguous. As these form the basis of your contract, if you have any queries, please address them to us prior to making a booking. They may sound abrupt, but are important for the well-being of all guests during your stay.
